Festival of Debate can only happen with the help of many volunteers from across Sheffield. If you’re enthusiastic, passionate and eager to help, please fill in our volunteer form and we’ll come back to you with more details.

Whether you’re skills are in planning and organising, or getting stuck in at events, we can find something for you. This year Festival of Debate will run from 19th April to 1st June 2019.

Founded in 2015, Festival of Debate is a series of panel discussions, debates, Q&As, artistic responses, keynote speeches and other public events in Sheffield, exploring politics, economics and society.

Festival of Debate is coordinated by not-for-profit company Opus Independents in collaboration with over 40 partner organisations across the city. 2018's programme took place in April, May and June and featured over 70 events of all shapes and sizes.

This year's Festival strands were Culture, Self & Identity, Democracy & ActivismFairness & EqualityFutures, and Science & Environment.
